Texas hold'em

Betting

The hand begins with a "pre-flop" betting round, beginning with the player to the left of the big blind and continuing clockwise. 就是说betting应该从big blind的左手开始,是否match big blind的最小赌注minimum bet。一直以顺时针轮到small blind,是否match。如果match了,big blind is live, big blind has the option to raise. big blind could check instead.

In no-limit hold 'em, players may bet or raise any amount over the minimum raise up to all of chips the player has at the table.

The showdown

A player may use both of his own two hole cards, only one, or none at all, to form his final five-card hand. If the five community cards form the player's best hand, then the player is said to be playing the board and can only hope to split the pot. If the best hand is shared by more than one player, then the pot is split equally among them, with any extra chips going to the first players after the button in clockwise order. If the hand involves fewer than five cards (such as two pair or three of a kind), then kickers are used to settle ties.

Starting hands

1. a pocket pair
2. suited hands (including suited connectors)
3. unsuited hands (offsuit)

Rank of hands

Straight flush (royal flush)>Four of a kind>Full house>Flush>Straight>Three of a kind>Two pair>One pair>High card (no pair)

Chen Point Count
  1. Take the high card and score it. A=10,K=8,Q=7,J=6 and from T to 2 = 1/2 the value of the card.

  2. If the 2nd card pairs the first, then the value is either twice the high card point or 5, whichever is greater.

  3. Round 1/2 point up.

  4. If the cards are not paired then calculate the gap for the lower card and subtract off a gap penalty. The gap is the number of cards required to complete the sequence, for example, a 9 and 6 have a gap of 2, needing a 8 and 7 to complete the sequence:
    For a 0 gapper subtract 0.
    For a 1 gapper subtract 1.
    For a 2 gapper subtract 2.
    For a 3 gapper subtract 4.
For a 4 gapper or more subtract 5 (includes A2,A3,A4).

  5. If the cards are of the same suit apply a flush bonus of +2 pts.

  6. If the cards are a 0 or 1 gap and the top card is a J or lower apply a +1 straight bonus
